ABSTRACT. A new genus Scutpelecopsis gen.n. is described for two species: Scutpelecopsis wunderlichi sp.n. (type species, from Caucasus) and Scutpelecopsis krausi (Wunderlich, 1980), comb.n., ex. Pelecopsis krausi. The relationships of the new genus to the related Pelecopsis Simon, 1864, Trichopterna Kulczyński, 1894 and Parapelecopsis Wunderlich, 1992 are discussed. Scutpelecopsis gen.n. exhibits several somatic and genitalic characters that are unique within Erigoninae, Linyphiidae and Aranei.
