ABSTRACT. The list includes 59 families, 269 genera, 1172 species and 75 infraspecific taxa of mosses, those are known for the territory of the former USSR. Among these 44 species and 1 variety are considered as dubious. For the accepted species the distribution within the terrirory of the former USSR is indicated, 20 regional divisions are recognized. Synonyms and systematical arrangement are also provided.
