ABSTRACT. In the European Russia Sphagnum subfulvum Sjors is widely distributed in the northern taiga subzone of the Kola Peninsula and Karelia. In the subzone of middle taiga the occurrence of S. subfulvum sharply decreases and south of 61° 45' N in Karelia it has not been found. A new locality of S. subfulvum is reported in the Kama River basin in Komi-Permyatskiy Autonomous District of Perm Province. This species grows usually in eutrophic-mesotrophic mires of aapa-type.
