ABSTRACT. In the course of revision of the genus Stereodon for Moss Flora of Russia, five East Asian species are recognized; most of them are little known in Russia, and therefore are commented on in the present paper. Stereodon dieckei is reported for Russia for the first time. Confirmed collections of S. densirameus (Ando) Afonina & Ignatova, comb. nov. are reported as all the previous records of this species were based on wrongly identified specimens. Descriptions, illustrations and comparisons with similar species, and distribution maps in Russia, are provided. In addition a key for identification of Stereodon and superficially similar taxa in Russia is given.
