ABSTRACT. Rhytidiadelphus japonicus var. kamchaticus Czernyadjeva & Ignatov is described. The species has in general more southern distribution, and this is the first finding in Kamchatka, where plants are different in a number of characters, although identical with R. japonus var. japonicus by nr ITS and cp trnL-F sequences.
