ABSTRACT. The sesiid moth Synanthedon subauratus Le Cerf, 1916 is redescribed. A study of the genitalia of both the male and female has allowed us to establish its real systematic position within the tribe Synanthedonini and to transfer it to the genus Anthedonella O.Gorbunov et Arita, 1995, resulting in Anthedonella subaurata (Le Cerf, 1916), comb.n. The male and both the male and female genitalia of this species are described and illustrated for the first time.
