ABSTRACT. The paper presents a critical review of eight species of Philodromidae (Aranei) that were recorded or described by Kroneberg [1875] from the Turkestan Territory; specimens are held at the Zoological Museum of the Moscow University, Russia. One species is described as new: Philodromus kronebergi sp.n. (♂♀) from SE Uzbekistan, NW Tajikistan and SE Kazakhstan. The lectotype ♂ is designated for Philodromus pictus Kroneberg, 1875. A new combination is proposed: Pulchellodromus humilis (Kroneberg, 1875), comb.n., ex Philodromus Walckenaer, 1826.

KEY WORDS: Araneae, distribution, new records, nomenclature, Middle Asia.
