ABSTRACT. Mosses are found in Middle Eocene amber from Sakhalin in the Russian Far East for the first time. They are referred to form-genera of Hypnalean mosses and described as Brachytheciites sachalinensis sp. nov. and Pseudoleskeellites obscurus gen. et sp. nov. Both species are known by gametophytes with partly observable leaf cell structure.
