ABSTRACT. An annotated list of hepatics of Orvin Land (in Nordaustlandet in the Svalbard archipelago) is compiled for the first time. It is based on the collections gathered by the authors in 2012 on the coast of Sætherbukta in Duvefjorden and counts 32 species, which comprise ca. 50% of the liverworts known for Nordaustlandet. It is the second studied local hepatic flora of Nordaustlandet. Annotations to the species include distribution, description of habitats, and some morphological characteristics of the studied specimens. Cephalozia bicuspidata, Cephaloziella divaricata, Lophozia savicziae and L. wenzelii var. lapponica are reported as new for Nordaustlandet. A comparison with the other previously studied local flora of Nordaustlandet in Murchisonfjorden shows significant differences, which are mainly explained by differences in the composition of the underlying rocks, carbonate in Murchisonfjorden and granites and gneisses in Sætherbukta. It was found that two species (Marsupella arctica and Scapania spitsbergensis) that are treated as vulnerable in Europe occur sporadically and can be abundant in the studied area.
