ABSTRACT. Dactylolabis (Dactylolabis) altaica sp.n., a new species of short-palped crane flies, is described and illustrated based on the male and female adults from East Kazakhstan (western Altai Mts). The new species differs from preponderance of species of the subgenus Dactylolabis by clear wings without any pattern, and from a few species also characterized by coloration of some body parts by structure of the hypopygium, especially by the shape of tergite 9 and proctiger.
