ABSTRACT. Based on the original material and literature data, a faunistic list of mayflies in watercourses and water bodies of Kamchatka was compiled, including 36 species belonging to 17 genera and 8 families. Occurrence of 22 previously reported species has been confirmed, six species, Ecdyonurus (Afghanurus) joernensis Bengtsson, 1909, Ameletus allengaensis Tiunova, Semenchenko, 2017, Baetis macani Kimmins, 1957, Acentrella fenestrata (Kazlauskas, 1963), Procloeon pennulatum (Eaton, 1870), and Caenis horaria (L., 1758), are the first time registered for the region, and 8 species were not recorded in our collections. Detailed morphological studies and DNA analysis showed that all larvae of Baetis bicaudatus Dodds, 1923 inhabiting the watercourses of Kamchatka and the entire Russian Far East belong to the new species Baetis (Baetis) molecularis Tiunova, Semenchenko, 2020. Larvae of Ameletus montanus Imanishi, 1930, previously reported for watercourses in Kamchatka are subspecies of Ameletus montanus arlecchino Kluge, 2007. The fauna of the peninsula’s mayflies consists mainly of widespread Circum-Boreal (3 species), Transpalaearctic (14 species) and East-Palearctic species (14 species). Five species have an East-Asian type of distribution.
