ABSTRACT. Observations on different life stages of Horaga onyxonyx (Moore, 1858) are recorded on Litchi chinensis Sonn. and on Vachellia nilotica (L.) P.J.H. Hurter & Mabb. from low elevation areas in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. L. chinensis Sonn. is recorded as a new larval host plant and V. nilotica (L.) P.J.H. Hurter & Mabb as a potential larval host plant larva; host plant of the butterfly. These observations can be used as baseline information to study potential host plants, behaviour and seasonality of this butterfly.
