ABSTRACT. Data on 32 types of Scathophagidae (Diptera), kept in collection of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, Paris, France are given. 23 lectotypes are newly designated in order to fix the identity of the names. The following new synonyms are proposed: Chione ichneumonea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 = Scathophaga stercoraria (Linnaeus, 1758); Acantholena longipennis Séguy, 1932 = Norellia tipularia (Fabricius, 1794).
