ABSTRACT. The species of the genus Tolyphus Erichson, 1845 from Asia, mainly from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan (T. bimaculatus Medvedev, 1963, T. sedilloti Guillebeau, 1892), were studied. An identification key to the species of the genus Tolyphus is provided. The validity of the species and morphological variability are discussed. The following synonymy is established: T. jankowskii Skopin, 1951 = T. transcaspicus Reitter, 1913, syn.n., T. dubius Gridelli, 1930 = T. granulatus Guérin-Méneville, 1834, syn.n. The range of one species (T. sedilloti Guillebeau, 1892) is significantly expanded: previously, this species was known only from North Africa; in the present paper, it is reported for Kazakhstan for the first time.
