ABSTRACT. Bembecia tristis (Staudinger, 1896) is restored from synonyms of B. ceiformis (Staudinger, 1881). The date of the original publication of this species is clarified. The morphology of the male, including the genitalia, and the female genitalia are described for the first time. B. dancaudani (Căpușe, 1973) and B. ili (Căpușe, 1973) are considered to be junior synonyms of B. tristis. In the structure of the male and female genitalia, B. tristis seems to be closest to B. jakuta (Herz, 1903), B. bohatschi (Püngeler, 1905), B. alaica (Püngeler, 1912), B. tschimgana (Sheljuzhko, 1935), B. yakovlevi O. Gorbunov, 2023 and some other Asian species of the genus. All these species differ from each other in the details of the colouration of various parts of the body and wings, as well as the shape of the transparent areas of the forewing.
